Professional rug cleaning, by hand - for every rug in your home.
For more than a decade, the Cohen family has hand-washed rugs of every kind - oriental, Persian, wool, silk, antique, and modern - off-site in cool, dye-tested water, then dried flat and returned in better condition than they left. No machines, no steam, no cleaning on your floor. Complimentary pickup across Manhattan, the Hamptons, Westchester, Greenwich, and Stamford.

Every rug, washed by hand.
One careful method, matched to the fiber and dyes of your particular rug - never one machine setting for everything. There is a page built around each; follow yours to see how we handle it.
Oriental Rug Cleaning
Hand-knotted wool and silk oriental rugs, every color dye-tested first so the natural dyes never move in the wash.

Inspected and dye-tested first, hand-washed in cool water, dried flat and returned.
Inspected and dusted by hand.
Every rug is examined by hand and each color is dye-tested before any water is used, then the dry grit is dusted out of the foundation. Most of what dulls a rug is soil deep in the base, and it comes out dry, not in the wash.
Hand-washed in cool water.
The rug is washed by hand in cool, temperature-controlled water with a soap matched to its fiber and dyes, the soil flushed out rather than scrubbed in. No heat, no machine, no steam, and never cleaned in place on your floor.
Dried flat, groomed, returned.
Rinsed until the water runs clear, dried flat over days with air on both sides, then groomed and finished by hand. The rug is returned to your home in better condition than the day it left.
Cleaning is where most rugs start.
A wash is the first thing most rugs need, and often the only thing. But the same hands that clean your rug also repair and restore it, so nothing has to leave the atelier to be made whole.
When a rug needs more than a wash, we also do rug repair, full restoration, color restoration, and moth treatment. If you are not sure what your rug needs, send a photo and we will tell you honestly, inspected by hand before any work begins.
